Shrubs and Vines with Great Fall Color
October is the ideal month to shop for plants with fall color. Nursery isles will be ablaze with glorious hues in much of the country. Here are some shrubs that you can plant to liven up your landscape right away and for years to come: Juneberry (Amelanchier), Japanese barberry, blueberries, flowering quince, wintersweet, deciduous cotoneasters, deciduous euonymus, witch hazel, winterberry (Ilex verticilliata), crape myrtles, deciduous azaleas, sumac, spiraeas and viburnum. And if you're looking for a vine, try bittersweet (Celastrus), grapes, Boston ivy, Virginia creeper or wisteria.
Use Bayer Advanced™ Triple Action Bloom Food Granules (product discontinued) for fertilization.
