2008 Arbor Day Promotion Bayer Advanced™ Partners with The Arbor Day Foundation to Restore America's TreesProgram Runs April 1 through July 31, 2008
Bayer Advanced™, the consumer lawn and garden division of Bayer CropScience LP and part of the Bayer AG family, has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation (ADF) to help restore national forests and replace trees destroyed by insects.
The national initiative is called the Bayer Advanced/Arbor Day Foundation Restore America's Trees program. It's the third year the two organizations have joined together in a reforestation program. In the last two years, Bayer Advanced donated 175,000 trees to the ADF to plant in our national forests.
This year, Bayer Advanced is continuing it's partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation by pledging 100,000 trees or one tree for each bottle of Bayer Advanced Tree & Shrub Insect Control or Protect & Feed Granules sold between April 1 and July 31, 2008, to the ADF to replace trees and reforest areas devastated by insects.
According to the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources, insects kill more trees each year than wildfires. Bayer Advanced™ Tree & Shrub Insect Control Concentrate and Bayer Advanced™ Tree & Shrub Protect & Feed Granules kills destructive insects in trees and prevents infestations for up to 12 months.
"The Bayer Advanced/Arbor Day Foundation Restore America's Trees program is an easy way consumers can help their own trees and restore trees in our national forests at the same time," said Bayer Advanced Head of Marketing Mark Schneid.
"Trees provide more than just aesthetic appeal," says John Rosenow, president of The Arbor Day Foundation. "Trees produce oxygen, provide a habitat for birds, stabilize soil, reduce erosion, mitigate flooding, reduce pollution and keep the earth cooler. Thanks to Bayer Advanced, we'll be able to replace trees that have been destroyed by destructive insect pests in our national forests and help the environment at the same time. The Bayer Advanced/Arbor Day Foundation Restore America's Trees program benefits all of us."
