Control garden weeds –Garden weeds are easiest to control when young. Hoe, pull by hand or use an appropriate herbicide. To control brushy weeds like poison oak and wild berries or tree stumps, use Bayer Advanced™ Brush Killer Plus Ready-To-Use.

Control indoor pests –To control pests like spiders, fleas and ants, use Bayer Advanced™ Home Pest Control Indoor/Outdoor Insect Killer Ready-To-Use Battery Powered Sprayer, which provides up to nine months? indoor insect protection. For easier-than-ever control of roaches, use Bayer Advanced™ Dual Action Roach Killer Power Pen™ Ready-To-Use. For more information, visit the Bayer Advanced™ Home Pest Control Web page.

Control lawn pests –To control above and belowground pests, including grubs, use Bayer Advanced™ Complete Insect Killer For Soil & Turf Concentrate. For control all summer long, apply Bayer Advanced™ Season-Long Grub Control Granules.

Control white grubs –Apply Bayer Advanced™ Season-Long Grub Control Granules.

Fertilize lawns –If landscape plants are growing slowly or are poorly colored, feed with a complete fertilizer. Also feed annuals and vegetables to keep them growing vigorously.

Mow –Cool-season lawns are growing vigorously. Mow at least weekly. Since it is recommended to remove no more than the top 1/3 of the leaf tissue at any one time, more frequent mowing may be necessary.

Plant flowers –There's much to plant, including cool-season annuals like pansies, calendulas and violas; and perennials, such as candytuft and geraniums. Also plant summer bulbs like gladiolus, callas and dahlias. Start summer annuals like zinnias and marigolds from seeds or transplants. Don't forget perennials like salvia, coreopsis and pennstemon. Protect from insect pests with Bayer Advanced™ Dual Action Rose & Flower Insect Killer Concentrate.

Plant lawns –Plant cool-season lawns, such as Kentucky bluegrass and fescues, from seed or sod.

Plant trees and shrubs –Plant new trees and shrubs, including roses. Protect new plantings from insects with Bayer Advanced™ Tree & Shrub Insect Control Concentrate. To feed and protect, use Bayer Advanced™ Tree & Shrub Protect & Feed Granules.

Plant vegetables and herbs –Where frosts are no longer a threat (otherwise protect plants with row covers), plant warm-season crops like tomatoes, squash and corn. Also plant mint, oregano, parsley, rosemary and thyme. In northern areas, there's still time to plant cool-season vegetables, such as lettuce, carrots and radishes. Protect vegetables listed on the label from insect pests with Bayer Advanced™ PowerForce® Multi-Insect Killer Granules or Bayer Advanced™ Complete Insect Killer for Gardens Dust.

Protect ash trees –In Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, protect ash trees from Emerald Ash Borer by applying Bayer Advanced™ Tree & Shrub Insect Control Concentrate. For more information, see pest alert.

Treat for termites –Treat the entire perimeter of your home with Bayer Advanced™ Termite Killer Granules. Simply sprinkle granules, water in and walk away.

Water lawns –Check irrigation systems. Fix clogs and broken sprinklers. Adjust spray heads. Begin watering as weather warms. Apply a fresh layer of organic mulch to conserve moisture. Follow local lawn watering guidelines available from the water department or cooperative extension office.
