Trumpet Vine

Chris Evans, Bugwood.org

Description

Trumpet Vine is a flowering, sprawling plant that produces orange and red trumpet-shaped blossoms that attract hummingbirds. The leaves are opposite each other and divided into seven to 10 leaflets. It is commonly grown as an ornamental, but in many areas of the Eastern United States it has become an invasive weed, smothering desirable plants, trees, fences and poles. Trumpet Vine can climb or sprawl up 40 feet.

Location

Trumpet Vine likes low, moist areas and grows throughout the United States.
